    #Physedsummit 3.0 – Getting Ready!

    Last year I was very excited to present at PhysedSummit 1.0 in October.  It was a surreal experience to create an online presentation for others to be involved with and to chat to Matt Pomeroy as he carefully moderated my session for an hour late in the night. The PhysedSummit has grown and now in it’s third running, offers quality Physed Professional Development for free over a 24 hour period.  All presenters were required to submit a proposal for their 1 hour session and the Physedagogy team have selected the presentations and have been closely working with presenters to ensure that the work offered is of the highest quality.  You…

    PhysEdSummit #1 – It’s a Wrap

    Last weekend ago I was so excited to be a part of the PhysEdSummit which was hosted as a series of Google Hangouts late into my Japanese night (breakfast time for USA #Physed folk) by the very amazing Physedagogy team.  If you didn’t tune in, don’t panic!  You can catch up on the program here and if you want to see my Google Presentation without the Google Hangout session narration, you can see them here.   I am planning to do some more PD and watching over the next month.     Sportfolios – student driven using Google Drive apps.

    Sportfolios are a PE version of a student portfolio.  They enable students to take their work with them from PE which has always been somewhat tricky.  Andy Vasily shares that they are about sharing work: student, peer, teacher and after seeing some in action, I have decided to invest some research into Sportfolios to see what they are about. I have some initial reservations and also some positive ideas in ways which they could and may work with my students this year.
